While the later model heads will suffice for this project, they didn't quite have the feel of the original. To better approximate this look, I added some sheet metal extensions to the top and bottom. The purpose is two-fold here, number one, closing them off is necessary to keep out the weather. Number two, a simple triangular extension on that piece yields a pseudo-type D. If I ever come across the correct lamps, I'll replace them, but for now these are adequate. |
